But how do you know the body shop you choose will repair your vehicle to the highest standards and, more importantly, that your car will be safe to drive now and for years to come? The last thing you want is a substandard repair that doesn’t last or, worse still, puts you, your passengers and other road users in danger. To ensure repairs are carried out properly, many repairers will carry the BSI10125 (formerly PAS1025) mark. It’s considered an industry benchmark of excellence in vehicle repair and vehicle body repair and ensures that the processes, materials and techniques used meet the highest standards of safety, consistency and quality. ## **What Is BSI 10125?** BSI 10125, formerly known as PAS1025, is the British Standard for vehicle damage repair, providing clear guidelines on how accident repair centres should operate. It’s built around four cornerstones, commonly referred to as the four Ms – man, method, machine and materials. This automotive accreditation is used by repairers to show they have the skills, knowledge and competency to carry out repairs to the highest standards. It is widely recognised by manufacturers and major insurers as a commitment to quality and is a mark of trust. ## **How This Standard Benefits Repair Centres And Their Customers** Carrying BSI 10125 is good news for customers because it demonstrates an accident repairer’s commitment to top levels of customer service and trust. Carrying the standard means: - **It guarantees[safety](https://www.evolvearc.co.uk/blog/ev-car-repairs)and roadworthiness** – Vehicles repaired under BSI 10125 meet the same standards as when they were manufactured - **It assures consistent quality** – You can trust the repairs are carried out using the best products, equipment and materials, which cuts the risk of recurring issues - **It boosts industry reputation** – Repair centres with this accreditation are considered leaders in health and safety in motor vehicle repair - **It supports sustainability** – It encourages repairers to adopt more sustainable practices, which contribute overall to a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly industry - **It aids insurance approvals** – Many insurers prefer repairers who adhere to BSI 10125, as it means the claims/repairs are handled to a high standard of care BSI 10125 plays an important role in raising the bar across the entire automotive repair industry, ensuring vehicles are repaired correctly and to a standard which meets the highest safety levels.
