Wrong. When it comes to repairing your vehicle after a collision accreditations matter and none more so than being VBRA-approved. It demonstrates that the repair centre adheres to a strict code of practice and assures customers they’ll receive quality service and ethical business practices. ## What Is VBRA? VBRA stands for the Vehicle Builders and Repairers Association and is a leading motor trade organisation. Its code of practice is monitored by the Trading Standards Institute and ensures that any businesses who sign up to it meet certain strict standards. It sets and monitors operating standards and ensures customers will receive a high level of service. It recognises that customers find themselves in difficult and distressing[circumstances after an accident](https://www.evolvearc.co.uk/claims-management), ensuring all members can confidently assist motorists and help them choose a business that can solve their issues. Being VRBA-registered isn’t just a framed certificate on the wall, it’s a stamp of quality that tells you the garage knows exactly what they’re doing and will carry out your repair to an approved industry standard. ## Why VBRA Approval Matters When you’re dealing with the aftermath of a crash the last thing you want is shoddy workmanship or unexpected delays. Choosing a [VBRA-approved repairer](https://www.evolvearc.co.uk/blog/rights-and-responsibilities-in-accidents)gives you confidence your vehicle is in safe hands. Here’s why it makes a difference: - Trained technicians - VBRA-accredited shops use qualified professionals trained in the latest repair techniques whether your car is petrol, diesel, hybrid or electric - Genuine parts – VBRA-registered repair shops are far more likely to use genuine, manufacturer parts that maintain your car’s warranty and performance - Modern equipment – Approved repairers will have the right tools and equipment to carry out repairs to the highest level. If they’re a [specialist EV repairer](https://www.evolvearc.co.uk/blog/ev-accident-repair-management) like EvolveArc, they’ll have the specific equipment to work on these types of vehicles - Industry-approved standards – [Most insurers insist their approved](https://www.evolvearc.co.uk/blog/factors-insurance-costs-after-accident) repairers are members of the VBRA to guarantee compliance and protect your policy - Customer confidence – VBRA members must follow a strict code of conduct, so you know your repair is up to scratch ## Your Right To Choose You can opt for the approved repairer your insurer stipulates, or you can choose your own – that’s your legal right. Although many insurers only use VBRA-registered garages if the one they want to send you to isn’t, then you can choose one that is. Opting for a non-approved repairer could mean inferior workmanship, delays or even invalidate your warranty. On the other hand, choosing a VBRA repairer means no guesswork, no cut corners, just high-quality, safe and fully compliant repairs. ## Approval Equals Assurance Bottom line, when you’ve been in a crash the only thing you really want is to get your car repaired asap and get back to normal fast. So, why take a risk when it comes to repairs? Whether it’s a minor bumper scrape or something more serious, choosing a VBRA-[approved accident car repair](https://www.evolvearc.co.uk/claims-management)shop means your car gets the expert care it deserves.
